Plan Your Path

Between the time you come to Legacy and the day your baby arrives, we will work on your parenting plan. Yes a parenting plan. You will always be a parent to your child. You are choosing another family to raise your child but you still have many important parenting decisions to make about how your plan will come together.

• You get to choose the family you want to raise your child
• You get to meet the family and build a relationship with them before your baby is born
• You can decide if you want the family at your doctor’s appointments, to share emails, phone calls and texts while waiting for your baby to be born
• You get to customize every detail of your hospital plan

  • Who will be in the delivery room with you
  • Will you see and/or take care of your baby or will the family, or both
  • What momentos do you want from the hospital
• Your family will go straight home with the family you choose, NOT to a Foster Home

From the beginning of your time with Legacy, we begin working on your future. We help you identify what is important to you and make a plan to get to that destination. Legacy works to help you obtain self-made goals such as a GED, college degree, a job, housing, community programs and much more.

Planning also includes what sort of on-going relationship and contact you want with your child and family.
