About Us
The Story of Us
A long time ago in a state not so far away… The nerdiest couple were destined to meet. Instead of flowers Andy bought Alissa a light saber making her the happiest girl in the galaxy. In return Alissa was happy to take Andy to see all the new Marvel movies, together they would share many buckets of popcorn.
We met working at the airport in Denver, where we were both baggage handlers. Andy grew up in Texas and was raised in a strong church going household. But being in the big city of Denver, Andy felt himself pulling away from the faith he had grown up in. Alissa grew up in a household that were not active church goers. She had often felt a call to grow closer to God. So aside from our nerdy things in common, we complimented each other’s spiritual needs as well. Alissas’ call to get to know God better inspired Andy to return to a life of faith.
So, a year after we met, we were married. Now 17 years later, we have had highs and lows, sickness and health, anger and laughter and we are thankful to have been through it all together. Our goal as a couple is to make our faith the center of our lives.
Our Family
We try to put Christ at the center of our life, so many of our traditions revolve around our faith. In our home we try to make a point of sitting together to share a meal and offering thanks for it, as often as possible. We have also decided to take responsibility in the education of our children and are proud to incorporate a bible based curriculum in our homeschooling. Most importantly we find it important to demonstrate love in all our activities, whether it be holidays or casual gatherings.
