We are Ben and Kaly!

Hello there

We are Ben and Kaly. We are so excited about expanding our family through adoption. We hope this profile gives you a little glimpse into our lives so you can see who we are and how we love each other.

Ben and I have been married for 11 years. We have grown to be very close through laughing, crying, and taking on the world together. We are by no means perfect but our imperfections have made us stronger together. We live in a small town in north Texas and have a wonderful tight knit community. We often walk a few blocks to the local park or downtown to shop around. We have one son, Elam. He just turned six years old and began kindergarten just this year. He is looking forward to having a sibling to play with, read to, and cause trouble with!

Though Elam is our only child, we have suffered loss in trying to expand our family. Our first pregnancy ended in miscarriage very early on and our most recent pregnancy ended in the stillbirth of our daughter, Ayla. We both come from large families and have always dreamed of having many kiddos of our own running around the house. We want to grow our family and with the many medical complications we have faced, we are so hopeful to do this through adoption. We are thankful to you for giving a family like us this opportunity.

I am a kindergarten teacher in the town we live in and Ben works in an oilfield just a short drive from home. Though we both are full-time employees, our jobs allow us to have a lot of family time outside of work. We have the most fun playing together outside, going on walks around town, and taking the occasional bicycle trip to the lake. We also enjoy playing in the treehouse we just finished. We are both Christians that attend church regularly. Family is also very important to us and we are blessed that most of our extended family lives in our community. They are all so excited to have a new family member to love on and care for! Should you decide that we are the best fit, just know that your baby will have endless love and support that surround them.

We are excited for the possibility to begin building a friendship if you see us as the right fit for your child. About Us

This is us...

Both of us grew up in the same community though it wasn’t until later that we met each other during high school in our church youth group. We both served through our church in different capacities and found ourselves in a great friendship. As we spent more time together we realized that we had found certain qualities that we wished for our future spouses in each other. We started dating soon there after and within a couple months Ben started saving for a wedding ring! Our relationship together has been very much centered around family. We are very lucky to have the support of both of our families in all that we have been through in our 11 years of marriage.

We still enjoy being together with each other today as much as we did when we first started dating and maybe even more so now. Our friendship has grown through the struggles that we have been through and consider that as a blessing because of how easily these things can make relationships harder. We are blessed to have our son, Elam, who has gotten to the age of participating in local sports.

This is us...

We enjoy vintage/antique shopping in different little shops. We have started selling things in our own booth in a local store right up the street. You can catch us finding vintage stores or estate sales trying to find our newest treasures! We love to find projects to complete together. We have been refinishing and repurposing furniture together over the last several months. We enjoy finding great food, our favorite at the moment is Chuys, we love to listen to great music together, and sometimes we even enjoy sitting together at home to read or watch TV together.

As a family, we enjoy being outside, taking walks around town, riding bikes, and playing whatever sport Elam (our son) is into at the moment. We currently love to spend time “camping out” in the tree house. We will cook out hotdogs, make s’mores, play card games, and take our sleeping bags up into the tree house! It doesn’t matter what we have going on, we just love to be together.

Our Family

Every Friday night we take turns choosing dinner. We usually get take out, bring it home, and watch a game show while we eat. We call this our "dinner party" night.

At Christmas time we have many traditions. One of our favorites is when our whole family comes into town and we go caroling to spread Christmas cheer!

Each year we take a family vacation in the summertime. Some of our favorite spots are in the mountains or at the beach.

Some call it chaos...we call it FAMILY!

Family is such an important thing to us. We are fortunate enough to live in the same community as most of our family. We are surrounded by so much love and support it is almost overwhelming. Ben has two older sisters. The oldest has three grown children and has adopted two younger girls. Ben's middle sister has down syndrome and lives with his mom right down the street from us. His parents are divorced but each live close by. Kaly's family is very close and they are always together to celebrate one thing or another! She has three younger sisters and even though they are all so different, they are the best of friends. They are each growing their own families and the cousins love spending time together. Kaly's dad passed away unexpectedly in 2010. It shook their family but made them so much stronger together. Her mom, Leslie, remarried in 2021, and with that added on several new family members to love on!

Our Home

We live in a little, close knit town in north Texas. This small community is one where everybody knows everybody. It is a place that both of us have grown up in from childhood so it really creates such a family-like support system built-in around us. We live within walking distance of several parks and downtown is a place we frequent often. We love to take a walk or a bike ride around town and chat with all of our neighbors along the way. Our town hosts several events throughout the year fit with parades, egg hunts, carnivals, and contests.

Our house was built in 1920 and we enjoy finding projects to fix it up. Older homes have such character and we love to find ways to bring out those touches. Our home is warm, cozy, and inviting. It is filled with lots of natural lighting from the windows. It is a two story home with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. We love to host family and friends all throughout the year and we look forward to our kids' future and being a place where all their friends want to be!
