About Us

The Story of Us

We met and fell in love at a mutual friend’s wedding in Amarillo, Texas. After dating long distance for a year, Jarrett planned the dreamiest engagement and I, of course, said “YES!” We got married the following summer and it was one of the best days of our lives. We have been married for 5 years now and live on the outskirts of the east side of DFW with our son, Gentry, and two goldendoodles, Paisley and Murphy. Over the last five years, we have grown both in our walk with the Lord and with one another more than we could have ever fathomed when we said, “I do.”

We have always dreamed of having a big family. We began trying to grow our family in 2019 and were so expectant of what the Lord was going to do. We had no idea of the valley that we were about to walk through as we endured two long years of infertility, fertility medicine, and two miscarriages. Losing our first two babies was a heartbreak that left us feeling completely devastated. After our second miscarriage, we felt God call us to pursue adoption. I have never been more certain about hearing the voice of God than on that day. I was driving home from work, weeping and crying out to God after a disappointing phone call from our doctor. In the midst of my tears, I heard the Lord whisper, “Surrender your family to me, focus on adoption, and I will take care of the rest.” When I got home, I walked through the front door and shouted, “We need to adopt!” Soon after, we began researching our next steps. We couldn’t wait to tell everyone the news!

A few months after beginning our adoption journey, after being told we’d never get pregnant without the help of fertility medication, we spontaneously and miraculously got pregnant with our son, Gentry, who just turned one in September. Although we experienced infertility and God blessed us with our first biological son, those parts of our journey are not the reason, nor the motive behind our decision to adopt. We know in our hearts we are so specifically called to adopt and we are overjoyed to continue to grow our family through adoption.

Surrendering our family to the Lord has taken more faith than we knew we could possibly possess and has been a complete act of obedience. Today, we are confident that God is a good and faithful God and that He is working all things together for our good and His glory. More than ever, we are both excited and expectant to see how the Lord is going to grow our family through adoption and we can’t wait to see Gentry as a big brother!

Our Family

Between birthdays and holidays, traditions are our favorite because we love to celebrate BIG! For birthdays, we spend the entire day celebrating that person. They pick the agenda and then we always end the day with their favorite dessert. Thanksgiving and Christmas are our two favorite holidays. We gather as a family and cook a huge meal with the most delicious food. We love to play games and spoil each other with gifts. We cannot wait to add another sweet baby to all the fun!

Our Home

Home is wherever I'm with you...

Our home is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in a suburban neighborhood, so we have plenty of room for our growing family. The neighborhood is very safe and has many kids and families. Our kitchen is right off the living room, making it easy to be together whether we're cooking, playing games around the coffee table, or cozying up on the couch. We have a flat front yard that is perfect for picnics and a covered patio in the backyard where we like to hangout and roast marshmallows in the fire pit. We live within ten minutes of several parks and walking trails and love to take the dogs for walks when the weather is nice. We also live super close to all of our best friends, church, and downtown. My favorite thing about our home is that you can see the most beautiful Texas sunsets in the evenings and if you step outside after dark, you can see more stars than you can count.

Our dream is to buy a piece of land and raise our babies on a farm with a garden full of fruits and veggies. But, as we wait and continue to pray for that desire in our hearts, we are learning that home is not a place, but rather, the people that are within it. As long as we're together, we're home.
