Jon & Michelle

Hello! We are Jon and Michelle!

You are an answer to our prayers and we are so thankful for you and your courage.

Jon and I have been married for almost five years. We were unable to have kids on our own. God has led us to adoption and brought us our son, Dallas. It would be our greatest joy to raise another child that we feel God has hand selected for us.

Jon and I met by Divine intervention. I accidentally pulled too close to the curb at the post office. I dented my front end and apparently made a horrific crunching noise. Jon immediately came to my rescue. We went about our day and a few hours later, I pulled into a new home development to view the only existing model home. As I was walking up the steps with the sales person, the builder, Jon, drove up to me us. We laughed at our initial encounter earlier and the coincidental new  introduction. Jon quickly captured my heart. Then the following year we were married and moved into our new custom home, that Jon built.

Our neighborhood is wonderful and we love taking evening walks. Our three dogs (Ranger, Coco and Harley) love to join us on our walks and we can’t wait to add a stroller to the mix! We enjoy spending as much time as we can together!

We love to travel and believe it is important to introduce ourselves to other cultures. Seeing the world is such a joy and we plan on including him or her in our travels. We also hope to teach our child multiple languages and musical instruments.

Faith is a core part of our lives. We know that He has planned and prepared us for this child and he or she will know how very loved they are; not only by us and God, but also by you. It is an honor to be considered as adoptive parents and we hope to find our missing piece.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

With love,

Jon and Michelle

A Little About Us

ABOUT MICHELLE BY JON:

Michelle is everything I ever wanted in a wife.  She is affectionate, caring, patient and understanding.  She enjoys serving others with her time and talents.  She loves to pray with her patients and brings them hope in often otherwise hopeless situations.  She enjoys searching out new adventures with me and traveling to places that are remote and off the beaten path.  She is strong mentally and physically.  She is a black belt in karate and stays in shape through various forms of exercise. She brings peace in the chaos and is able to multi task in very hectic situations. Michelle is light hearted and enjoys anything from romance to thrillers. You will often find her in a book just as readily as you would in the garden. She loves to run and walk the dogs. I look forward to watching her stroll around the park with our baby and most likely starting a new club or group for our child.  She is the type to be a room leader and most definitely the cheerleader in the stands for every sport our child is involved with.  She has been a great Co parent with me for the boys and I have watched her around her two previous step daughters.  They call her weekly and often rely on her for advice more than their own parents.  She is funny and loves to laugh.  She is the first to forgive and the last to say “ I told you so.”  Michelle is going to be a great mother because God has given her an amazing ability to comfort and care for everyone around her.  She loves life and it shows in everything she does and with everyone she meets.  She is beautiful inside and out and I’m so thankful to have her in my life.

ABOUT JON BY MICHELLE:

Jon’s laugh is infectious. He has a big personality and is typically the life of the party. He adores children and can usually be found playing with them versus hanging out with the adults.  He loves all sports and social events. Our typical week involves entertaining and just having fun. He has a servant’s heart and is extremely generous. He is someone you feel you have known your entire life after meeting him just once. He has a knack at making you feel comfortable and valued. Jon loves the Lord and that passion is what initially drew me to him. He sets himself apart at work and he uses his talent to minister to others. He blesses each home he builds and writes scriptures on the studs. He is an amazing father and his biggest dream is to enlarge our family. He cannot wait to coach whatever sport our child becomes involved in or just simply be the loudest cheerleader amongst all the parents. His first born is adopted and he wouldn’t change that for the world. Blake and Andrew are both his pride and joy. Although Jon’s DNA might not run through Blake’s veins, his love most certainly does. Besides his talent, creativity, honesty, integrity, loyalty, humor, patience and love; he is also handsome, humble, God fearing and an all-around amazing man and father. I am blessed to have him as my husband and best friend.

What we do for fun!

We enjoy so many activities but at the top of our list is spending time with our family.  All of Jon’s large family is nearby so we see them quite often.  We enjoy hanging out together, playing games, swimming, cook outs, rooting for the Cowboys/Rangers and just relaxing together.  We enjoy our church life as well.  Worshipping together and going to small groups and conferences. We actually host a small group on marriage.   We LOVE to travel and have seen some pretty amazing places together.  From Egypt to Italy, Jordan to the south of France, Israel to the Caribbean we have been quite blessed to see so many different areas and cultures.  We have climbed Mt Sinai together, ate in a Bedouin tent, rode camels in Egypt, floated down the Nile as well as in Venice, been baptized together in the Jordan River and seen sloths in the rain forest.  We cannot wait to take this child on every adventure in our future travels.  We love all sporting events and have season tickets to the Rangers.  We go to several Cowboys and Mavericks games, NASCAR, soccer and at least 2-3 local high school games including football and volleyball.  If not at a game, we enjoy entertaining, dining out, shopping, walking our dogs, reading a new book, jogging, riding our bikes, fishing, golfing (Jon) and even video game competitions. We are really looking forward to seeing what favorites this new baby will discover and developing new interests/activities together.
