Our Story
Our story is incredibly sweet and we would love to share it with you! Roughly 20 years before we met, Beth’s parents were friends with Jotham’s parents, so much so that Beth’s dad was in their wedding as a groomsman! Beth can remember going over to Jotham’s house when she was younger and playing with him and his brothers and sister. Naturally going separate ways, it would be 20 years before our paths would meet again. In 2008, Beth’s dad unexpectedly passed away. Through the years before he passed, Beth’s dad spoke about Jotham’s father often. When he passed away, Beth and her siblings knew without a doubt that we would have Jotham’s dad, David help with his funeral. It was at the funeral that Beth and her siblings were reunited with Jotham’s parents after many, many years. However, Jotham was not at the funeral and it would be a couple more months before Beth and Jotham would meet.
It was a cold and snowy Christmas Eve evening and Beth and her sister, Becky had to run to Target for a last minute gift. While walking down an aisle, Beth recognized David from the funeral. She immediately noticed that he had two of his sons with him, and it was Jotham that caught her eye. Too shy to say anything, she just kept walking. At the end of shopping, Beth and her sister Becky sat at the Starbucks cafe. While sipping her coffee, Beth saw Jotham walk by once again. This time, he caught notice of her looking and looked back. Beth later went home that evening and found Jotham on MySpace! She built up the courage to message him and the rest is history! We dated for a little over a year, engaged for a year, married and then moved to Texas from New York!
We have now been married for 13 years. We make time together a priority, as we know that a strong family can only be strong when the husband and wife are fully committed to each other. We truly are best friends and love being parents alongside each other.
We value traditions in our home and believe they are a very important part of childhood. Christmas in particular in our home is very special and magical. One of our favorite Christmas traditions is our nightly reading of a bible story out of a children's bible around some lit candles. There is a space on our mantle for a new stocking and we are so excited to welcome a new baby into our family!
