We are so excited to meet you!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family and considering us to be part of your baby’s story! To begin, we want to acknowledge the complex circumstances that have led you to the decision to choose adoption for your child. We want you to know that we care for you and are committed to honoring you and your story in this child’s life if you decide we are the right family to love and raise them.

This moment of adoption has been a long time coming for us. I (Lea) have felt the Lord nudging me towards adoption for years, and after deciding that a second pregnancy was too medically risky for me, Nathan and I have embraced the possibility of welcoming a child through adoption and getting to love them and raise them along with our son Nick.
We are incredibly excited to add another child into our family. We love being parents and take great joy in stewarding our kids to grow into people who will love others and love God well.

We hope this answers any questions you may have about our family. This is a big decision, and we want you to know that above all, we are praying for wisdom and discernment for you as you decide which family is the best fit for your precious child. Please know that we are in your corner and continuing to pray throughout the decision process, birth, and beyond!

About Us

Nathan is my best friend, and the last six years (five married) have been the best of my life. Nathan is a quieter, steady presence, which is something I have relied on and is a huge gift to our family. He is patient, kind, and strong. When we experience hardship, he is the unwavering rock who holds our family up. When our toddler is crazy, he is the patient dad who pushes him in the swing for hours, and catches him for the hundredth time when he wants to jump in the pool. When I have a crazy idea for a house project, he is the firm voice of reason when we should wait, and the steady manpower who makes it happen when we should do it. My life with Nathan is fun, and even more than that, it’s safe and reliable. Having a partner who always put me and our son first, and who is the definition of a servant leader has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Lea has been the best addition in my life. She tempers me and pushes me in the best possible ways. Lea is the outgoing presence and the planner in our family. She keeps us organized and creates routines and schedules that benefit both Nick and I. She is both strong and compassionate. She is kind to our son but teaches him to think through his actions and emotions so that he understands consequences for actions. While I tend to be more practical, she enjoys dreaming fun ways to engage our family. I would often rather stay home and spend time as a family, while Lea pushes us to engage our community and friends in ways that are infinitely more enjoyable than my introverted plans. Lea makes our lives better by the joy she brings in and the dreams she plans to keep our lives interesting. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in marriage and couldn’t imagine a better mother for our son.

Our Family

Nathan’s family loves nothing more than to have big family meals where everyone helps cook, and then enjoy games late into the night. We are excited to add another place setting at the “kid table” along with the two other new cousins being added to this growing cousin crew!

Lea’s family enjoys time spent outdoors, whether just playing in the backyard, or enjoying a boat ride on vacation. A new addition will fit right into the next adventure She She (Lea’s mom) is planning for the family.

Our Families

We have such a big support system that we can’t possibly list everyone here! We are very close with both our families. Nathan’s family (his parents, three siblings and their families) all live in the same city that we do, so we see them often and Nick spends tons of time with his cousins. Currently they are in swim class together! Nathan’s family loves to cook big meals together, have game nights, days swimming at his parents’ pool, and showing up to support all the nephews at their endless sports games. The best word to describe this family is: fun!

My (Lea’s) family lives a few hours away, but they drive in every few weeks for a visit, and Nick and I FaceTime them every day. We vacation with them every year, and make it a priority to spend time with them as often as possible. Nick asks for She She and Shack constantly, and we are grateful that the distance has not had an impact on the closeness of the grandparent relationship. My sister is also an important part of the family, and she goes out of her way to spoil Nick and looks forward to doing it for another child in the family! I am also very close with my grandmother, Annie, who adores being a great grandmother and can’t wait for another addition to our family! While smaller and quieter than Nathan’s family, mine provides a source of safety and wisdom for us that we cherish.

In addition to our families, we have a large group of families from our church who we spend a good amount of time with. These are the people who Nick thinks of as aunts and uncles outside of family, who we vacation with, and who are emergency contacts for kids at school. We are very blessed to have not only quantity of friends, but true quality. We meet for our weekly community group, have random playdates, and call for help when we need an extra set of hands around our kids. Nick is never short on friends to play with, and it means the world to have friends who love my son well, and who I trust to not only keep him safe but enrich his life.

Things to Know About Us

1. Our faith in Jesus is the foundation of who are are as individuals and as a couple.
2. We are very different, and we think those differences are strengths of our marriage.
3. We love being parents and take that job very seriously as partners together.
4. We are both imperfect, flawed people, and we strive to love each other in the midst of imperfection.

Our Home

Home Sweet Home

We live in a wonderful, culturally diverse neighborhood with a range from young families to older couples. We have walking paths and a great park with a large duck pond nearby, (one of Nick’s favorite places!) We have a 3 bedbroom, 2.5 bathroom home with a huge backyard. We have a large oak tree with a swing in it, a big patio covered in all manor of toys, a basketball hoop, and we also have a garden bed that currently holds the wildflowers Nick helped plant this year. Our favorite things about our house besides the backyard are the big woodburning fireplace that we spend lots of time around as a family in the winter, and the big picture windows that let tons of natural light in. Our home is on a quiet street in an older neighborhood with big trees located close to many of the great things our city has to offer, including Nick’s Montessori school, our church, and many friends and family. We have multiple close friends who live within several streets of us.

We can’t promise to be perfect or always get it right, but we promise to continue to ask for help, learn from others who are wiser than us, and never stop loving and cherishing the gift that your child would be to our family.
