Devoted Adoptive Family in Austin

From Us to You: Sending so much love and admiration for your adoption decision

Becoming an adoptive family in Austin is one of our greatest dreams. Our journey to adoption began after the birth of our two boys, when we experienced four years of infertility. After asking God what to do, we received the clear message that our family was not done and adoption through Legacy Adoption Services in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas was the path we needed to take. We knew it was the perfect way to grow our family, as we’re blessed to be in an ideal place to welcome an adopted child into our home.

You can rest assured that if you select us as the adoptive family for your child, they will live in a very safe Austin neighborhood where community is a top priority. For example, our neighbors are our best friends. We frequently walk to the pool and the park as a group and get our kids together for other outdoor activities. We enjoy this community so much that we’d have to say our all-time favorite weekend activity looks like all the neighborhood kids playing, before we all have dinner at someone’s house.

In addition, we can always count on one another. It’s not uncommon for us to bring food to a neighbor who had a baby or just a hard day or to have a last-minute play date with a child whose parent needs extra support. It’s amazing to have this type of camaraderie. God is another major aspect of our family and social life, as we often read scripture together and participate in Bible study groups.

Travel is another family passion. Our oldest son just made a travel goal with Paul to visit all the ballparks in the United States – something he’s very excited about! In addition, we go to the beach every summer with family and friends. However, we recognize how important it is to provide solid roots for children, so we often stay close to our Austin home during these early years.

We also want you to know how cherished your child will be by our sons. They are thrilled by the idea of welcoming a new baby into the family, as are we. Your child will find a wonderful big brother in our oldest son who is six and just started first grade. He loves playing with Legos and hanging out with his best friend. He is also incredibly kind, intelligent and adores dancing.

Our youngest son is four and such a bright light. He says hello to everyone he passes! He also loves dancing and dressing up, which makes our life so fun. He just started soccer and wants to be a nature scientist or Spiderman when he grows up.

As you navigate this decision, we want you to know that we pray every night for the baby who will come to us. Their room is ready, with a bassinet and everything the child could possibly need. In addition, they’ll never be without friends as there are numerous babies on our block, and of course, our two boys will be lifelong brothers and playmates of the child. We see the child fitting beautifully into our life in Austin, coming with us on all outings and being the primary focus of all our decisions. The baby will be welcomed in the exact way a child who we had biologically would be.

It’s also important for us to express how in awe we are of you as the child’s birth parent. The decision to put your child up for adoption is one of the most courageous and selfless acts we can imagine. Although we know this is likely one of the most challenging decisions you’ve ever made, we pray for you to find peace in this choice, knowing that it’s the most incredible gift you could give your child. We are honored to be considered by you as a forever home for your child.

If you end up feeling that we are a good fit for your child, we can’t wait for the day we can meet you and give you a big hug. We look forward to keeping in touch with letters, pictures and visits Legacy Adoption Services will help us facilitate. We see you being at the child’s graduation, wedding and other milestones, as we want to make sure the child knows where they come from and feels connected to you, if that’s something you both want.

We’re so excited and ready to welcome a baby into our family. Thank you for considering us.

A Little About Us

How We Met:

We met on December 20, 2003 at a Christmas Party. We were both in college and home for Christmas Break. It was pretty much love at first sight! We went on our first date on December 26 and were engaged two years later on that date, then married less than a year after that. Since then we have been through so much together – Paul was a baseball player and I was a business owner in the fashion industry the first few years of our marriage. We have celebrated the births of two boys, the loss that comes with infertility and miscarriages and the joys of living life for the Lord and being ready for his next steps for our lives. Now we are settled in Austin, Melissa as a mom and Preschool Teacher and Paul as a Financial Advisor and Partner in his firm.

Our Hobbies:

We spend a lot of time outside, enjoying the beautiful scenery and fun atmosphere of our city. The boys love to swim in our neighborhood pools and ride bikes. We love to have picnics and meet friends to play at the park and feed the ducks. We have a really sweet street with lots of close friends that we get to call neighbors! Our favorite Saturdays end with all the kids playing in the backyard and a shared dinner with our neighbors.

Family Time:

We love to curl up on the couch and watch a good movie together as a family. On Friday evenings we do pizza and movie nights and we look forward to it all week! As a family we love to travel and explore new places together. The boys love to go to Disney World and the beach. Paul and I have traveled to Italy and Iceland together recently. It is a hobby that we really enjoy together and get excited to take our children back as they get older.

Our Boys, George and Sam:

There is something special about growing up with big brothers. We know that George and Sam will be so loving and protective. We are excited for our boys and this child to make a lifetime of memories together. They both have so much love to give and can not wait to share it with another member of our family!

Why Adoption?

We are so excited to be walking this adoption journey with you. We love that adoption will be a part of our family’s story, and we are so grateful to you for considering us for this tremendous gift. Even before we were married 12 years ago, we knew that we wanted to support adoption. God has grown that calling in us as the years have passed by showing us through friends that had adopted, the incredible role that adoption could play in shaping a family.

After having both boys we knew we still wanted more children and experienced secondary infertility. We began some fertility treatments, but after multiple losses we were faced with a choice; continue fertility treatments or pursue adoption. We prayed, we talked and met with amazing families who had adopted their children, and it became clear: Gods calling on our lives to support adoption meant that we were meant to be adoptive parents ourselves! This is the path that we are choosing in order to build our family, and it is one we’re so proud to be on! We now feel incredibly ready to expand our family through adoption and we are praying for a connection with the mom and child that God wants us to meet!
