You will always be a parent to your child. You are choosing another family to raise your child, but you still have many important parenting decisions to make about how your adoption plan will come together.

• You get to choose the family you want to raise your child.
• You get to meet the family and build a relationship with them before your baby is born.
• You can decide if you want the family at your doctor’s appointments, or if you want to share emails, phone calls and texts while waiting for your baby to be born.
• You get to customize every detail of your hospital plan.

  • Who will be in the delivery room with you?
  • Will you see and/or take care of your baby, or will the family, or both?
  • What mementos do you want from the hospital?
• You may be thinking, “But I don’t want to give up my baby!” But in some cases, moms are left with no choice. If CPS is involved, it may give you great peace of mind to know that your baby will go straight home with a family you choose, NOT to a CPS foster home. If you choose adoption with Legacy Adoption Services, you can also choose to maintain contact with your child, if you wish.
