We are Colton and Emily!

Hello! We cannot wait to meet you!

It is not lost on us the blessing that it is to introduce ourselves to you! We are humbled to have the opportunity to provide you with a glimpse into our life. We cannot imagine the weight of the decisions you are currently having to make and we, first and foremost, want you to know that we are praying for you regardless of your decision. In our eyes, you are already one of the most courageous people we have the pleasure of knowing!

Having children is something we have dreamed of since before we got married, but starting a family has proved to be a challenge for us. Deciding to adopt was not a decision we took lightly – we have prayed and sought counsel about this decision, but through it all God has brought an overwhelming flood of peace!

We promise to show up for our child at every opportunity presented. We promise to teach them how to fix problems they face, and how to face adversity head on. When we are overwhelmed, our parents promise to make life easy for their grandkid and step in and show up. We promise to teach our child about putting their faith in God and trusting that He will guide their path. We promise that just because our child will know how to do things on their own, it won’t mean that they have to do it alone, we will always be there to offer a helping hand and support them in any way that is needed. We promise to love them eternally, have their backs, and be a warm place to rest for the rest of our lives.

We are so excited to become parents and are honored that you are considering us, we cannot wait to make your child the center of our world! As the birth parents, you will always have a place in our family. We are praying that you find peace and support along your journey, no matter the decisions you make!

About Us

Both growing up as Aggies it was bound to happen...

…the typical college love story, and lucky for us, it did! We met through a mutual student organization at Texas A&M, and the rest is history!

We spent many nights on the dance floor in college when going out with friends, and Colton was always confused why Emily would take such interest in how his week went or what he was up to each weekend. After some coaxing from mutual friends, Colton realized that Emily like liked him and if he wanted this to go anywhere he needed to ask her on a date. The asking part was daunting for Colton, but was met with an eager “Yes!” Dating through a world-wide pandemic allowed us to spend a lot of quality time together getting to know each other in a variety of situations. After a few years of dating, Colton popped the question at his family property and we were married in the winter of 2021!

In our marriage it is extremely important to the both of us that we are seen as a united front. You will find us together more often than not whether we are with family, serving at church, hanging out with friends, or just doing the day to day chores such as grocery shopping and cleaning the house. We are truly best friends and value our time spent together.

Finding out we are unable to have biological children came as a shock to us and made us do a lot of introspection. After some soul searching, we realized that our desires revolved around raising children and creating a family, not around pregnancy. Our call to adoption was one we took seriously and prayed at length about. Ultimately, we know that we were made to be parents and that how we get there doesn’t need to be the traditional route!

We Are Better Together!

During the week we each work hard at our jobs, but make it a priority to be fully present when at home. In the evenings we enjoy taking the dog for walks and tinkering with things in the garage. On weekends, you can find us with family, at the ranch, or in the hunting blind! We spend as much time as we can outside, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air. Family is one of the most important things in our life and we are blessed to surround ourselves with our people often.

We love to fill our home with friends and family often, so it is not uncommon for us to host impromptu dinners and gatherings! It is also important to us to show up for our friends and family when and how they need it – you can find us cheering on cousins at sporting events, dropping meals off for new parents, and being there to step in wherever else our village needs us.

When we are blessed with children, we plan to bring them alongside us and involve them in our activities in age appropriate ways!

Our Family

Our family traditions are not only centered around holidays, but also around football and the outdoors! We love to celebrate all holidays and there will certainly be plenty of holiday-coordinated outfits in our kiddo’s future. Birthdays are also something that is celebrated heavily in our family - truly, any reason to celebrate, or decorate, we are all in for! One thing is a guarantee for our holidays and traditions, and that is sharing them with family!

Our Village

We are blessed with a village that cheers us on during the good times and is there to step in and help during trials and tribulations. Our family and friends are the center of our world, we have built a community that extends beyond our blood family into friends that have become family and a church family that carries us through the good and the bad!

We are extremely close with each of our families and see our immediate and extended families often. Emily’s immediate family consists of her dad, mom, and younger sister. As a family, we enjoy hunting and spending time at mom & dad’s outside grilling and swimming! Emily has a large extended family consisting of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! Spending time with family is a priority for everyone, so we celebrate most holidays with extended family. Emily is the oldest niece & granddaughter on either side, so we are excited to add the first great grandchild and great niece/nephew on both sides! There will certainly be no lack of attention for our sweet kiddo! Colton has a large immediate family that consists of his dad, mom, older sister & brother-in-law, and younger brother. Colton’s parents live in the next town over and we see them weekly at church and Sunday lunch. As a family, we do a lot of ranch work together and can be caught grabbing dinner often. Colton’s family is very involved in the community, so it is no surprise to find us at community events. Colton’s extended family is full of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! We all get together often to visit with each other and grandparents. There will be no shortage of cousins to play with!

The network of friends we have built throughout the state is strong. Some of our friends we see on a regular basis are ones we have had since we were born, others we met in high school or through work, and others we have picked up somewhere in between! Our friends are spread out across all stages and walks of life, we have friends who have already raised kids that are well into their school years, friends who are raising and having babies, and friends who are just now getting married or are single. It is important to us that we surround ourselves with people who value the same things in life as we do, but who also challenge us to think deeper and become better people.

Everyone is beyond excited to have another addition to the crew and we cannot wait for our child to feel the love that surrounds us each day.
