About Us

Our Journey

Michael is an introverted optimist who loves the outdoors. Post college Michael took to the mountains and moved to Denver where he became a ski bum and worked for a Christian nonprofit. Michael has always had a strong love for the outdoors and found that his relationship with the Lord grew when he is alone with God in the great outdoors. After moving back to Texas, Michael found himself working in the health insurance industry alongside some of his best friends. This career path has allowed him to serve thousands of people trying to navigate a complex industry for critical healthcare needs. Michael’s kind, optimistic personality brings comfort to those in stressful scenarios which is a gift from the Lord! Michael’s kindness is not only felt at work, but also at home. He is patient with our boys and leads by example whether in his kind treatment towards Amy or his comforting ability to calm crazy kids – Michael is known to all for being kind and optimistic!

Amy is an extroverted people person who loves creating spaces and events for people to find joy and feel welcomed. Post college Amy had her heart set on moving out of state for a wedding planner opportunity, but the Lord opened doors that led her into an Executive Assistant role that has spanned from financial firms to tech start ups. Amy is a tamer of chaos, which works well being a mom of 2 boys! Amy always approaches everything she does with grace and patience whether this is work, motherhood or her role as a wife. She loves our boys well allowing them to fully embrace boyhood while still maintaining boundaries and guiding them to be kind to one another and others.

We met 10 years ago through mutual friends. Despite growing up in the same hometown and attending the same university, the Lord did not allow our paths to cross until that fateful day in 2014! While Amy had her heart set on moving out of state, Michael had sworn off dating, but the Lord kindly derailed our individual plans as we got to know one better. Our dating history was quick – when you know, you know! – and we were engaged and married within ~1.5 years of meeting each other! We got married at Amy’s parents’ ranch where we had over 200 friends and family celebrating us! We had a morning wedding full of our favorite things: breakfast & good coffee and from there we embarked on a European honeymoon to the Czech Republic and Austria.

Within a year of marriage, Amy was offered a job out of state, so we packed up our tiny apartment and headed to California where we experienced so many fun, new places, people and food! Our first son, Peter, was born in California just before Covid hit. We had a small window of bliss getting to explore so many beautiful places with baby Peter before we packed up on tiny California home and headed back to Texas to be closer to family during the Covid season of uncertainty. This transition allowed up to land in an incredible neighborhood amongst our best friends and amazing neighbors. Through more job transitions and the birth of our second son, Caleb, we couldn’t ask for a better place to be and are so thankful the Lord landed us where we are today!

Our Family

One of our favorite family traditions dates by generations with Amy's family: an annual family reunion at the family cabin in Colorado. We love escaping the Texas summer heat and seeing so many extended family members come together. On Sunday mornings during the family reunion, we all gather in the same camping spot for a family "sunrise service" where we embrace God in the beauty of the mountains. We are so excited to bring a new baby to this special place and into this special tradition.

Our Home

Home Sweet Home

We absolutely love our home and the neighborhood it’s in. Our house is spacious with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which gives us plenty of room to spread out and make lasting memories. The layout is perfect for our family, and we’ve truly made it our own. The best part is how much we enjoy our family time together at home, whether we're in the living room playing legos or cooking a meal in the kitchen.

One of the things that makes our neighborhood so special is the sense of community. There are so many kids in the area, and it’s a common sight to see them playing together outside, riding bikes, or playing basketball. The streets are safe, and it feels like one big extended family. We love that we’re just a short walk from the local elementary school and playground, which is perfect for quick trips with the kids.

Our backyard is another highlight of our home, and it’s where we spend a lot of our time. We have a large space that’s perfect for family and friends gatherings, and the swingset is always a hit with the kids. We love to sit on the back porch, enjoy a meal together, and watch the kids play. Gardening has also become a family activity—there’s something so fulfilling about working together to grow our plants and flowers. It’s moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to have found a place that truly feels like home.

Final Thoughts

Last, but not least

Our faith is the foundation of who we are, guiding everything we do and shaping the way we live and love. It is through this faith that we are able to approach this journey with an open heart, and we are so thankful that you are considering us during such a pivotal moment in your life. Our children, Peter and Caleb, are beyond excited at the thought of welcoming a new sibling into our family. We are also blessed to be part of a loving and supportive church family, who is just as eager to welcome your sweet baby into their community.
