About Us
Will and I met in college, where we were both part of an organization that helped incoming freshmen transition from high school to college. The day we met, Will told his friends he knew he would date me. For me, on the other hand, the night was such a whirlwind, that I don’t remember meeting him at all. Being in the same organization we began to spend a lot of time together. He would record concerts and invite me over to watch them with him or we would meet up to study or grab lunch between classes. At one point I considered setting up with my roommate until I realized how much I liked him myself. We began formally dating the following semester and were quickly inseparable.
Both of us would describe the other as our best friend. As a couple, we balance each other out and really work together (and best) as a team. Our relationship has become richer over our almost ten years of marriage. We prioritize date nights and time together. We have learned how to listen to one another without always jumping in to fix things. We have the most fun when we are with each other. We love to travel with one another, and even though Will jokes about always having to drive on road trips, we have a great time listening to show tunes and songs we remember from high school, turning up the volume and belting out the lyrics, seeing who remembers them better.
Will knows me better than anyone else and has an uncanny ability to predict my answers on any quiz or personality test. Through Will I have learned how to appreciate sports and movies and how to take life one day at a time. Will is easy going and hilarious, the perfect antidote to a bad day. He constantly has me laughing, with an impression or a comment or a story. He is an excellent storyteller. He is honestly my better half and God knew exactly what he was doing when he placed the two of us together. He is generous and caring and deeply loyal. He’s picked up my sister from the airport after a red eye flight at five in the morning. He officiated one of his best friend’s weddings. He’s the first person I call when I need to talk through something. He is there in the small things and the big things, ready to listen and offer a hug. Will brings out the best in people and I love watching him as a dad. He is a wonderful example and is always willing to jump in and play.
Ariana is kind, humble and God-centered. She is easy to love because of her willingness to always put others first before herself. She has been my biggest supporter since we have been married and her willingness to be a full-time mom has allowed me to advance in my career. I am continually amazed by how patient and loving she is with our boys. Her commitment to her daily quiet time with the Lord has been such a strong foundation for our family. I love her willingness to always dream big for our family and she always strives to make sure we are making memories together. She does a great job planning an annual family vacation so that we can have uninterrupted time together. Ariana is always ready for God’s plan and her willingness to trust Him has helped us navigate through life’s journey.
We love making memories as a family from vacations, to pizza Thursdays. Here are a few of our favorites:
-On Christmas Eve, we dress up in matching pajamas, and ride around looking at lights and drinking hot cocoa.
-Each year before school starts, we have a Family Fun Day that includes burgers, the Lego store, and cheesecake.
-Each night the boys have a special song from both of us that we have been singing to each of them every night since they were babies.
