Dear Birth Mom,

We are Jacob and Rebekah (Bekah), a hopeful adoptive couple. We are so grateful to you for considering us to be a part of the story for you and your child. We have known for a long time that adoption would be the path that we would take to create a family due to infertility. We have waited for 8 years to start this journey together, and feel like now is the right time to welcome a little one into our lives, and we are so excited.

We would love to share about ourselves, our life together and our village that supports us. We have been completely blessed by the home we are building together, and have big dreams for our family, whatever it looks like and whenever it comes.

In our excitement, we recognize that you are facing an impossibly difficult time, and a big decision for your future and for your baby’s future. We thank you for opening yourself up to the possibility of adoption for your child, and to the good things and the challenges that may come with it. Please know that we are praying for you and your baby constantly. We pray for your health, your baby’s health and that you would have the kind of peace in your decision that can only come from Jesus. Whatever decision you make, please know that we are cheering you on, and wish only the best for you and your baby.

About Us

Our story so far...

We met in 2011 during our freshman year of college at TCU. Technically we met the Saturday night before classes started. We both lived in the co-ed honors dorm and a curtain rod in Rebekah’s room fell down. Rebekah picked up the curtain rod and carried it to the lobby of the dorm in search of “someone tall”, and found Jacob chatting with a friend. Jacob (who is not that tall) managed to get the curtain rod fixed, and then a couple days later we discovered we shared an 8 A.M. Chemistry class together! We started out as study partners and then became best friends. We began dating the following Spring in 2012 and quickly fell in love. After three years of dating, we got engaged in 2015. We both graduated college in 2015 and got married surrounded by our friends and family on May 28, 2016.

Rebekah in Jacob’s words:

Bekah is the most kind and thoughtful person I have ever met. She loves all animals and feeds a devoted flock of birds, squirrels, and a pair of wild bunnies that show up to feeders she setup in our backyard. I sometimes joke that anything sparkly or cute in my life is there because Bekah brought it. She is incredibly smart, an avid book reader, and awesome at putting together puzzles! Bekah has truly made our house a home, making it warm and filled with life with several tropical plants Bekah has grown. She cares deeply that the people around her are taken care of all the time and I know she is going to be an amazing, nurturing mom.

Jacob in Bekah’s words:

Jacob immediately makes any room or event he walks in to more exciting. He is fun and friendly, and I think I’ve known from the moment I met him that he would be an incredible dad. Jacob makes me laugh every single day. Jacob is grounded and steady when I need him to be. He is so loving, my safe person, and my best friend. Jacob loves the people around him so well, and works hard to be the best husband, son, brother, friend, and employee he can be. I’m constantly inspired by him.

Family, Friends and Fun!

We are all about spending time together! We even work for the same company where we often get to share lunch and carpool together. We spend our free time doing activities like board games and puzzles, or relaxing at home with our dog Holly.

We love going to local sports games together as a special occasion! Bekah is a giant Texas Rangers baseball fan! We have gone to several of their games and even got to attend their championship celebration parade in 2023! Jacob’s favorite sport is basketball and we have gotten to see the Mavericks play in Dallas a couple of times. We have also loved going to see TCU football and basketball play when the school has had alumni events! We still have a few local teams on our list still to see in person, and love continuing to support all the local teams we can!

When we aren’t out and about, we love low-key time at home together. You can usually find Rebekah snuggled on the couch with Holly and reading a book, and Jacob enjoys video games. Both of our moms were teachers and have started their own combined family library. We can’t wait to read our favorite stories with our kids someday.

A few of our favorite things!

We love to travel together when we have the opportunity. Our favorite vacation was going to the beach in San Diego!

Jacob loves to watch all sports throughout the year, and often fires up the grill for watch parties.

Rebekah loves shopping for a thrifty find or great sale, and our house is always being decorated.

We often go to the movies together and split a giant bucket of popcorn- Some recent favorites have been Wild Robot and Top Gun: Maverick.

Jacob is a specialist in dad jokes, and we are always laughing together.

We try to go to at least one Rangers baseball game each year.

We like to take Holly to the local park to walk around the pond and playground.

Rebekah likes to cook dinner at home throughout the week, and we enjoy sitting down for dinner to talk about our day.

We love big holidays like Christmas and July 4th! We also make sure that everyone’s birthday feels special.

We enjoy the same types of music, and usually go to a big concert once a year.

Our Family

We spend the night with family on Christmas Eve and wake up Christmas morning to enjoy cinnamon rolls and opening presents and stockings.

We enjoy driving through our town to find the best holiday lights display, and always get together to watch fireworks with popcorn on the 4th of July.

We love birthdays and really enjoy making everyone feel special. We always plan for a homemade cake and when it's your birthday, you get to pick the restaurant.

Meet Our Family and Friends!

Spending time with people we care about is really important to both of us! We feel very blessed that many of our favorite people live very close by and wants to help in any way they can. We are so fortunate to have both of our immediate families living in the same area. We spend every Sunday morning at church with Jacob's parents, then enjoy going out for lunch with them every week. Rebekah's mom, grandmother, and sister all live a short drive away and we enjoy meeting up with them for dinner and celebrating life together regularly. Rebekah's dad and stepmom live out of state, but come to Texas every two to three months. Our parents and siblings are all so excited to welcome a new baby and continue to be a part of our daily life.

We have built up several close-knit friend groups since settling in the Fort Worth area after getting married, and spend lots of time with those friends. Jacob and his college roommates started playing board games on Saturdays. Over the years their girlfriends (and now wives) joined in and now we all meet every weekend to play games and share dinners together. We play anything from regular board games, to card games, big crossword puzzles, and even Dungeons and Dragons when we have time. Our whole group is so excited to be bonus aunts and uncles to a new baby and look forward to teaching future children new games and cooking skills. We have also joined a monthly Bible study group and the other families in that group have been a wonderful source of both support and wisdom in preparing to be parents.

Things to Know About Us

1. We love Jesus and are trusting in His timing for our family.
2. We have so much fun together. We laugh a lot and enjoy each other’s company.
3. We work hard to communicate well and work through challenges as a team.
4. We love volunteering in our community. For the past couple of years we have even been sponsoring an owl at a bird refuge. His name is Owlbert!
