About Us

Our story so far...

We met in 2011 during our freshman year of college at TCU. Technically we met the Saturday night before classes started. We both lived in the co-ed honors dorm and a curtain rod in Rebekah’s room fell down. Rebekah picked up the curtain rod and carried it to the lobby of the dorm in search of “someone tall”, and found Jacob chatting with a friend. Jacob (who is not that tall) managed to get the curtain rod fixed, and then a couple days later we discovered we shared an 8 A.M. Chemistry class together! We started out as study partners and then became best friends. We began dating the following Spring in 2012 and quickly fell in love. After three years of dating, we got engaged in 2015. We both graduated college in 2015 and got married surrounded by our friends and family on May 28, 2016.

Rebekah in Jacob’s words:

Bekah is the most kind and thoughtful person I have ever met. She loves all animals and feeds a devoted flock of birds, squirrels, and a pair of wild bunnies that show up to feeders she setup in our backyard. I sometimes joke that anything sparkly or cute in my life is there because Bekah brought it. She is incredibly smart, an avid book reader, and awesome at putting together puzzles! Bekah has truly made our house a home, making it warm and filled with life with several tropical plants Bekah has grown. She cares deeply that the people around her are taken care of all the time and I know she is going to be an amazing, nurturing mom.

Jacob in Bekah’s words:

Jacob immediately makes any room or event he walks in to more exciting. He is fun and friendly, and I think I’ve known from the moment I met him that he would be an incredible dad. Jacob makes me laugh every single day. Jacob is grounded and steady when I need him to be. He is so loving, my safe person, and my best friend. Jacob loves the people around him so well, and works hard to be the best husband, son, brother, friend, and employee he can be. I’m constantly inspired by him.

Our Family

We spend the night with family on Christmas Eve and wake up Christmas morning to enjoy cinnamon rolls and opening presents and stockings.

We enjoy driving through our town to find the best holiday lights display, and always get together to watch fireworks with popcorn on the 4th of July.

We love birthdays and really enjoy making everyone feel special. We always plan for a homemade cake and when it's your birthday, you get to pick the restaurant.

Our Home

Our home!

We have dreamed of buying a home together for a long time, and after years of dreaming and saving, we finally got to buy our first home in 2022. We live in a beautiful one story home with three bedrooms and a big backyard. Our neighborhood is small and quiet with a several nearby parks. Other kids that live on our street love to ride their bikes up and down the sidewalk on nice days. We live within driving distance of the zoo, the city gardens, and lots of museums and other fun places for kids to play.

We are all about making our space cozy and inviting. Our living room opens up into our kitchen, making up the biggest part of our home. This gives us plenty of room for hosting friends and family for dinner, movie nights, and big sports games! It will also be a great open space for future children to play. In the winter we setup and decorate our Christmas tree with ornaments we have been given over the years. Bekah searched for months when we first moved in to find the perfect, ultimate comfy couch for our living room. We converted one of the bedrooms into our office which Jacob has decorated with posters from the original Star Wars movies. We plan for our nursery to be either Snoopy or butterfly themed for a boy or girl with a rocking chair for both grandmas to read stories from. Our backyard has plenty of room for playing and running around as kids get older, and also several birdfeeders allowing us to sit and enjoy the different birds and squirrels that come to our yard.

Final Thoughts

Thank you for sharing in our story.

We have been preparing our hearts and our home to grow our family through adoption for years, but we recognize that this point in your life may not be something you expected. We want you to know that we are blown away by your bravery. We are honored that you would consider us to be parents to your child. We will raise them to know their story, and desire for them to know you. We won’t promise perfection, but we will fully dedicate ourselves to creating a life filled with fun, learning, faith and family. They will always know they are loved and supported as they grow up. With love, Jacob and Bekah
