About Us

Our Story

We recently attended a “marriage night” at our church, and we were asked to define our “superpower.” We chose the word “perseverance.” We have been through a lot together, but our faith in Christ has been our firm foundation through it all. We have been incredibly blessed in ways would could never have imagined, and we have also leaned on God for strength during times of loss, waiting, and unexpected difficulties. But through each season, we are so grateful for the love we have for each other, and even more for our faith in God, who is strong when we are not.

When we were first introduced by a mutual friend at dinner one night, little did we know all that God had planned for us. We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary. We have supported one another through late nights of studying as we were completing our degrees and celebrated graduations and job offers. We have danced together at many weddings, but we have also cried together at funerals. We have held hands in hospital rooms and nursed each other back to health. We have been isolated together in quarantine (and as it turns out, we really do enjoy each other’s company!). We have poured each other more morning cups of coffee than we can count. We have laughed together almost every single day. We have prayed through it all, and we cannot wait for the next adventure.

Nick is a loving, dedicated husband, who works extremely hard both at his job and in our home. He enjoys completing home improvement projects, and he is handy with a hammer and a drill. He is often the guy people lean on for help and guidance in his career as a Human Resources Manager, and he is always willing to go the extra mile. He makes me laugh with his corny jokes, and he will sing (sometimes off-key) or dance (sometimes off-beat) to cheer me up when I’ve had a tough day. He listens well and talks to me about everything. He really is my best friend, and he loves me so well. Kids are immediately drawn to Nick’s energy. When we spend time with extended family, there is often one child sharing a piggy back ride with Nick while another is following him around waiting to share a story. I know he will be an incredible dad.

Melanie is an amazing partner in this life. She has a loving, empathetic, and joyful spirit. She always has kind, supportive words for others in even the most difficult situations. She is also a game expert! In her job as a speech therapist, she loves connecting with the children she is helping by playing different board games, card games, and guessing games, and she can make any experience fun with her playful and energetic personality. She is also one of the most grateful people for everything the Lord has brought into her life, no matter how small. She finds joy in summer sunshine, fall leaves, and snowfall in the winter. She is truly uncommon in the world today, in an amazing way. Melanie has a way of responding to children that makes them feel seen and valued. When it comes to spending time with our niece and nephew, she has such a patient and gentle heart. I know she will be an amazing mom.

Our Family

We are so blessed to have our family close by. We are grateful for the memories we have made at family holiday celebrations, birthday dinners, and regular Saturdays spent together at each other’s’ homes. We have supported each other through life’s challenges, and we find love and security knowing we can lean on one another for encouragement and help. Nick’s parents are known as “Gigi and Papa” to our niece and nephew, and they are the most loving grandparents. In the summers, they host family “pool parties” in their backyard, and we have an annual “cookie baking” weekend together at our home each Christmas season. Nick’s dad often comes to our home on the weekends to partner with Nick on home improvement projects. It is our joy and our privilege to be involved in our niece and nephews’ lives as they grow up.

We also have close friends and extended family who live from California all the way to South Carolina, so we feel loved and supported from “coast to coast.”

Our Home

Our Home

We are thankful to live in a warm and inviting home. Our house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and it’s located in a quiet neighborhood with lots of trees. The neighborhood sidewalks allow us to enjoy our daily walks together. We have wonderful neighbors, including many families with young children. We find ourselves gathering with family and friends most often around our dining room table, but we also love having picnics and cookouts on our screened-in porch. We enjoy sitting out there, just the two of us, sipping coffee in the morning, or having a game or movie night by the fireplace in our cozy living room. Our backyard provides a great play area for us and our pups, and we know this will make a great space to play outside with our child someday. We are also thankful to live in a great school district. Two elementary schools are just a short walk from our house. We love waving to our neighbors as they walk with their children to school in the morning.

Final Thoughts

Before you go...

We cannot express our gratitude enough for taking the time to get to know us. Adoption has been a common thread throughout our story, and we have a heart for sharing our love with a child.

We are humbled that you may consider us to love and provide for your child. We understand that no matter where your child’s home is, you and your child will always be connected, and you will always be a part of their story.

We promise:
• We would provide your child with a safe, secure, loving home
• We would cheer your child on as they discover their unique passions, interests, and talents
• We would provide every educational opportunity to your child
• We would surround your child with friends and family full of love and support
• We would make sure your child knows they are loved unconditionally, no matter what

We can only imagine what a difficult decision this is. Please know that we are praying for you.

It would be a privilege to get to know you.
