A heartfelt hello from our family

We are honored to be sharing some of our family with you as you are navigating this difficult journey. Your position is one that requires a great deal of thought and prayer and our hearts are with you and your decision every step of the way. Our hope would be that in a time that seems dark our family may provide a needed light.

We are high school sweethearts who always felt a deep desire to expand our family through adoption. Before trying to conceive our first child, before marriage, the call to adopt has been growing within each of us individually and as a couple.

We have spent more time on this earth as a couple then not which means we have a very honest, stable, and deep relationship. One that knows both wonderful times and difficult. One that has seen the best and worst within each other. But one that has always come out stronger and more fierce with each step.

We married after completing college, moved to gain new experiences, independence, and education, and then came back to our hometown to develop roots and start a family of our own. We are very blessed to have three beautiful, unique, and spirited sons who would love to share their bond and love with a baby sister. Our sons are 7,5, and almost 3 and each of them brings their own style, talents, and love to each day.

As a family we prioritize quality time with each other as well as our large extended family and friends. Education, church, the development of talents and interests, and making memories through vacations and holidays are some of the things we value. We also take great pride in making our house and true home and a safe and fun environment for our children and their friends. We enjoy throwing parties and hosting large gatherings where fellowship can take place and people in our community can enjoy and grow closer.

Something that we feel makes our family stand out is our acceptance to new challenges and ideas and our drive to make the most out of our lives and talents.

Why adopt is a question we get asked frequently. To us the answer has two parts. One, a long-standing unified calling to do so. Second, as we have matured in our lives, we have been blessed with an excess of love and resources. An excess of all the things that a child needs to grow and develop into all that they are meant to be. If we can help provide that for a mother and child who are facing difficulty for any reason we would be honored to do so.

About Us

Meant to Be

We met in middle school at band camp. We caught each other’s eye right away and became good friends! Two years later we started dating in high school with our first date being the annual band banquet.

We stayed together through collage even though we did not attend the same university. After we finished our degrees we got engaged and married two years later.

Even through tough times we have never looked back. We are best friends and partners.

Adventures Together

One thing we love about each other is our matching sense of humor. We always laugh at the same awkward moments and jokes. Because of this we enjoy watching comedy shows. Some of our favorites include Dave Chappelle, Hannibal Burress, and Nate Bargatzi.

Another thing we have in common is our love for all types of good food! From Mexican in our own kitchen, to cajun in New Orleans, seafood in the Maine, Cuban in Miami, wild game in Iceland, Indian and fish n’chips in London, Ethiopian, and the little Thai place down the road, we love to try new things .

Something we have grown just as excited about as the kids is holiday and birthday planning, especially Christmas! We love decorating the house and having fun making seasonal treats. Hot cocoa bombs are on the list to try this year. But more than that we love to slow down and focus on fun family outings and activities. Some of the things we prioritize are seeing the best lights in town, the Polar Express train ride, a Santa brunch with pictures, and our family get togethers.

Our Family

We enjoy special activities such as pizza and movie night where we eat the kids favorite foods, make some popcorn, and head upstairs to watch a new show or sports game on the projector screen. We also like to have Sunday's where after church we come home and grill outside and watch the kids play in the backyard. Church itself is part of our weekly routine and the kids look forward to attending. The kids also love to cheer at their schools sporting events!

It takes a Village

We decided to raise our family where we grew up so they could be close to and influenced by the many extended family members that live in the area. Our children will always know the importance of family both nuclear and extended and will be surrounded by the love and support of grandparents, currently two great grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins. Some of whom we see and talk to on a weekly basis and others we see a few times a year at holiday gatherings, but all supporting and uplifting each other.

We also have many friends both old and new in the area. Some from our grade school days, some collage years, work buddies, and church/school moms and dads with common values.

Our neighbors are also such a blessing for us. There a handful of younger families with similarly aged kids very close by. They have all become good friends and love sharing after school playtime and birthday parties together. There is also a large group of retired neighbors that love seeing our kids play. They welcome them in for holiday treats and festivities. They watch out for them and are always eager to catch up and see how things are going.
