Each knowledgeable and compassionate adoption professional has the same goal – to find a peaceful and lasting solution for both baby and parents.
What are the roles of our Houston adoption partners?
During an adoption, many people band together as one unit – birth parents, the adoptive family, clinicians, counselors and attorneys. Legacy facilitates the many services that make a Houston adoption healthy, thorough, uplifting and full of love. Below are some of the ways that Legacy works with important members of the Houston adoption world.
Medical staff. Legacy case workers will work with the expectant mother’s OB/GYN to make sure she is receiving the best prenatal care possible. We will also communicate her adoption plan with the hospital where she delivers, making sure she is treated with compassion.
Attorneys. We work with Houston adoption lawyers to comb through every legal aspect of the adoption, including the medical and living expenses for a mother, parental consent, post-adoption contracts and finalization.
Social workers. Knowledgeable social workers care for everyone involved with adoption. A social worker oversees the pre-adoption home study as well as the post-adoption home visits necessary before finalization.
Support systems. We can connect expectant parents and adoptive families with other Houston adoption services. Meeting with counselors, educators and others who have been through the process can make a tremendous difference for those currently walking the adoption path.
