In modern adoption plans, birth parents do not have to be strangers with their baby and the adoptive parents. Part of modern adoptions is choosing what you want out of the adoption. Do you want interaction with yearly visits, pictures and videos or do you want distance with updates every few years? It is fully up to the birth mom and her desires. No two modern adoption plans are the same, each is unique to the birth mother and child.
Understand that the emotions that come from placing your child with another family will not be easy, but there are no easy options. Allowing someone else to parent your child may feel like a loss, but with time you will recognize that your love for that child gave him or her life. A life with parents who loved and desired to have your child before your child was even conceived. Modern adoptions are open, loving, caring and selfless adoptions. Birth parents are showing sacrificial love through their adoption plans.
