My husband and I have always wanted to adopt and have prayed for years that God would open the door to adoption at the right time and place. That time and place was perfectly prepared by God. The moment we heard about our son is a moment I will always treasure. Hearing that his birthmom was ready to make the greatest sacrifice and trust us to raise her precious gift is a feeling I can’t even explain.

I remember driving to meet them with a racing heart, knowing that just moments later we would be meeting the child we had been praying relentlessly for. As we walked over to meet them, I felt so much love for the two people walking towards us, our son and his birthmom. The sweetest most beautiful little boy bounced toward us with arms open and the biggest smile. We had prayed for this moment for so long that it felt surreal. Next to our sweet bouncing son was his beautiful birthmom. The next moments we spent playing with our son and loving on his birthmom. I remember telling her many times how much I love her and how amazing I think she is to make such a hard decision. She is courageous, strong, and full of love. I know that she loves our son so much that she choose to put her love for him over the pain it would cause her.

We would not have the greatest gift snuggled up next to us now if it wasn’t for his birthmom’s selfless choice. We will always admire her, we will always cherish her decision and, we will always be forever grateful for the gift she has given us. She will always be spoken highly of in our home and always loved.
